抗惊厥，化痰，鎮靜，止痛，抗癌作用。
Actions & Indications主治﹕
being used in stroke with abundance of phlegm, paralysis, epilepsy, tetanus, tumors, arrhythmia.
External use:  insect and snake bites (grind with vinegar or water and apply to affected area)
治療中風痰壅，口眼喎斜，半 身不遂，癲癇，破風傷，癰腫，心律不整等疾病。
外用：蛇蟲. 咬傷 （以醋磨汁塗或研末調敷）。
Dosage用 量﹕
Taking orally: mainly using the prepared herb, 3 to 10 g in decoction. External Use: appropriate amount.
煎服，3～10g，多製用。外用適量。

Toxicity & Cautions毒素與禁忌﹕
The whole plant is toxic. The herb must be prepared before use. Dan nan xing is prepared by using pig's bile. It is more effective and safer.
天南星全株有毒，根、莖等部份都含有毒的生物鹼及苛辣性毒素。
Addendum: 
dan nan xing (arisaema cum bile) is made of mixing prepare nan xing with bile of cow, sheep, goat, or pig. It is also made of mixing sheng nan xing (raw nan xing) with those bile and through fermentation.
Characteristics: bitter, cool. Enter: liver and bile channel (meridian).
It is being used in cough with heat and yellow phlegm, stroke with phlegm,  epilepsy.
Dosage: 3 to 6 g in decoction; or use in pill or powder form.
Do not use dan nan xing in cold type of cough or in condition of pixu (spleen deficient)

本品為製天南星的細粉與牛、羊或豬膽汁經加工而成，或為生天南星細粉與牛、羊或豬膽汁經發酵加工而成。藥性苦、微辛，涼；歸肝膽經。功能主治：清熱化痰，息風定驚。用於痰熱咳嗽，咯痰黃稠，中風痰迷，癲狂驚癰。
用量：內服：煎湯，3-6g，或入丸、散。
禁忌：寒痰及脾虛者慎服。
