lian qiao 連翹

Pharmaceutical name: Fructus Forsythiae Suspensae
Latin botanical name: Forsthia suspensa (Thunb.) Vahl
Common Name: forsythia fruit
Distribution: Shanxi, Shaanxi, Henan and throughout northern China
Properties (characteristics) bitter, cool, and slightly acrid
Channels (meridians) entered: heart, liver gall bladder
Actions & Indications: clears heat and toxin, nodules. Expels externally contracted wind heat as in common cold
Chemical ingredients: forsythin, matairesinoside, betulinic acid, phyillygenin, pinoresinol
Dosage: 6~15 g per day

【品種來源】
本品為木犀科落葉灌木連翹 (Forsythia suspensa (Thunb.) Vahl.) 的果實。產於中國東北、華北、長江流域至雲南。野生、家種均有。白露前採初熟果實,色尚青綠,稱青翹。寒露前採熟透果實則為黃翹。青翹採得後即蒸熟曬乾,篩取籽實作連翹心用。以青翹為佳,生用。
【性味歸經】
苦,微寒。歸肺、心、膽經。
【功效】
清熱解毒,消癰散結,疏散風熱。
【主治】
1. 用於癰腫瘡毒,瘰癧痰核。本品苦寒,主入心經,「諸痛癢瘡、皆屬於心,」本品既能清心火,解瘡毒,又能散氣血凝聚,兼有消癰散結之功,故有「瘡家聖藥」之稱。治癰腫瘡毒,常與金銀花、蒲公英、野菊花等解毒消腫之品同用;治瘰癧痰核,常與夏枯草、象貝母、玄參、牡蠣等清肝散結,化痰消腫之品同用。
2. 用於外感風熱,溫病初起。本品苦能瀉火,寒能清熱,入心、肺二經,長於清心火,散上焦風熱。常與金銀花、薄荷、牛蒡子等同用,如銀翹散;治熱入營血,舌絳神昏,常與玄參、丹皮、金銀花等同用,以清熱解毒,透熱轉氣,如清營湯;治熱入心包,高熱神昏,常用清心瀉火的連翹心與麥冬、蓮子心等同用,如清宮湯。
3. 本品還可用治熱淋澀痛,多與竹葉、木通、白茅根等利尿通常藥同用,兼有清心利尿之功。
【文獻別錄】
1. 《本經》:「主寒熱,鼠瘻、瘰癧、癰腫、惡瘡、癭瘤、結熱、蠱毒。」
2. 《日華子本草》:「治瘡癤止痛。」
3. 《珍珠囊》:「連翹之用有三:瀉心經客熱,一也;去上焦諸熱,二也;為瘡家聖藥,三也。」
【用法用量】
煎服,6~15g。
【注意禁忌】
脾胃虛寒及氣虛膿清者不宜用。
【現代藥理】
本品含三萜皂甙,果皮含甾醇、酚性成分(連翹酚)、生物鹼、皂甙、齊墩果酸、香豆精類,還有豐富的維生素P及少量揮發油。
1. 連翹有廣譜抗菌作用,對金黃色葡萄球菌、賀氏痢疾桿菌有很強的抑制作用,對其它致病菌、流感病毒、真菌都有一定抑制作用。
2. 有抗炎作用。
3. 本品所含齊墩果酸有強心、利尿及降血壓作用。
4. 維生素P可降低血管通透性及脆性,防止溶血。
5. 煎劑有鎮吐作用、抗肝損傷作用。
